Countless customers from diverse business segments with one thing in common: they’ve benefited from our agility, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

We have had the opportunity and privilege of working with countless public, private and commercial entities from a wide variety of business sectors during almost 35 years in this business. During that timespan, we’ve encountered just about every circumstance or situation imaginable related to environmental hazard detection, abatement planning and remediation monitoring.

Our customer base is as diverse as it is wide. Whether it’s working with clients in education, churches, corporate, industrial or medical, penal or mental health institutions, we’ve developed a deep understanding of the challenges each area presents as well as what approaches work best to provide accurate, efficient and cost-effective environmental health consulting and solutions.

Take the education sector, for example. Adelaide is a trusted provider for many districts throughout the New York State school system. We work either as a prime consultant to education-related state agencies, as a subcontractor to architectural, engineering or construction firms or to individual schools themselves. Regardless of how the job is being run, the key factor in working in this sector is schedule adherence.

For large scale projects, there is a brief two-month window for work to be done after which the building must be accessible and safe when the fall school session resumes. Additionally, we have to be very sensitive to emergency calls to ensure we are expedient in order to allow classes to begin as quickly as possible with minimal disruption on days when school is in session.

Another area where Adelaide has significant experience is within healthcare facilities and, specifically, psychiatric centers. Of the 27 state-run psychiatric centers in New York, we have worked in over half of them. Our expertise enabled us to easily contend with the unanticipated fast-tracking of abatement on four entire floors at the Manhattan Psychiatric Center, which required ramping to provide inspection, emergency variance acquisition, plan development and staffing of six round-the-clock project monitors within a seven day period. Daunting for most but extremely doable for us.

Clients requiring our services in public venues which must remain open to employees, students, patients or visitors can represent challenges. For example, monitoring demolition in an occupied building or conducting hazmat surveys in the midst of a populated college campus are commonplace assignments for our technicians. Whether it’s hazardous material investigations at various NY State DOT facilities or abatement administration at county office buildings in Albany, Sullivan or Westchester Counties, we are used to working in environments where public safety is a concern.

Almost 35 years in this industry has taught us that while each client and business sector is different and presents unique challenges, they all have three needs in common: the need for accuracy, efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Whether it’s providing emergency response for an exploded steam pipe at a penitentiary, managing the multi-year abatement of an entire college campus or providing environmental monitoring at a disaster site such as the World Trade Center after 9/11, our clients need the job done right, on time and within budget. At Adelaide, we take pride in providing our services with these three needs always front and center.
